Hello LFTI family,

I have great news. Life for the Innocent’s tax-exempt status has been retroactively reinstated by the IRS.

Donors can be assured all gifts made before, during and after the revocation notice are fully deductible and LFTI can continue to operate as an exempt 501(c)(3) public charity.

You may remember that in August of last year, the IRS automatically revoked LFTI’s nonprofit tax status due to an external accounting error. After correcting the issue and resubmitting our application for exemption, the IRS has retroactively reinstated LFTI’s tax status with no gap in exemption. Bottom line, all past, present and future gifts are tax-deductible.

We also want to share more good news – the work of Life for the Innocent continued to thrive this year in leaps and bounds:

  • In January, four LFTI team members visited 90 rescued children in transition homes across South Asia.
  • In April, 400+ guests gathered at the Lantern Gala in Fort Collins, Colorado to provide housing, school, counseling, and adoptive families for 172 rescued children.
  • Currently over 1,500 rescued children are being cared for in 53 transition homes. Each child will be placed with an adoptive family in the coming months.

And now, our fiscal year ends this week. We hope to fund care for 33 children in one of the homes our team visited in January. This costs a total of $49,000 – for the entire 6 month transition process. So, if you haven’t donated this summer to help these children, please click here to make a special gift before June 30.

You will receive a receipt for gifts given now and all donors will receive normal giving summaries after the end of the calendar year. If you’d like, you can click here to view our new IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter.

Thank you for continuing to provide new life for children rescued from human trafficking!

God bless,

Chris
