I know you see encouraging Life for the Innocent updates and emails, but if you are anything like me, it is still easy to feel overwhelmed by the issue of child trafficking in South Asia. But I want you to know that YOU ARE making a significant difference. Here’s proof…
Recently, I had the chance to reconnect with Vihaan, who was recovered by the rescue network over 16 years ago. We had a great time catching up. Even though I hadn’t seen him in so long, it was like no time had passed. We talked about everything, and I thought it was interesting that he specifically brought up how thankful he was for the education he got while in an LFTI transition home.
He said, “I never thought I would be fortunate enough to receive an education. But when I was rescued, new doors began to open and you made a way for me to go to school. I always wanted to run my own business. My teachers knew that and believed in me. They made me work hard on my math and reading.
Now, I run my own bike shop and am so thankful for the opportunity I had to be educated. LFTI made all the difference. I have a family of my own and an extremely intelligent daughter. She is even entering the 11th grade a year earlier than her peers!”
It was so cool for me to know the investment made in Vihaan’s life is being passed down to his daughter.
If it wasn’t for you, bright young people like Vihaan wouldn’t be free to go to school, run bike shops and send their own kids to school. His story is proof you are impacting the lives of future generations.
Even though you may not be here in person to prepare a rescued child for their next season of life, you are directly providing for their freedom and education. I want you to be encouraged, you ARE making a difference and I am so grateful for you!
