COVID-19 Second Wave in South Asia: How You Can Help

You may have heard about it on the news – a second wave of COVID-19 is devastating countries here in South Asia.

In 15 years of doing this work, Life for the Innocent has not seen a regional crisis on this scale.

Prices of basic goods are skyrocketing, public transportation is not allowed in many cities, and lockdowns make it hard to buy food. As a result, your support is so important right now since it is more expensive to serve rescued children in our care.

And, this crisis presents another threat for children outside our care.More kids are losing both parents to the virus and are at extreme risk of being trafficked.

But your support can do a for children who are being trafficked during this second wave.

Currently, over 2,000 children are in LFTI transition homes. They are receiving food, medical care, and counseling, and will go home with their adoptive parents soon.

In the meantime, we want to be ready to take in more kids at risk. So we have additional housing and cleaning services, and are doing weekly COVID-19 tests for all staff and kids.

Thanks to these procedures and the prayers of people like you, no children currently in our homes have gotten the virus – this is truly a miracle! But our day-to-day costs have increased a lot.

To address these challenges, LFTI’s team in South Asia needs $52,000 before our fiscal year ends in two weeks, on June 30.
