As you may know, second waves of COVID-19 have been hitting nations in South Asia where Life for the Innocent works.

I’m sad to say the LFTI family across South Asia has experienced losses, and need your prayers.

As of today, 129 of those previously served by LFTI and 11 of our counselors have died of COVID-19. They contracted it in different ways, at different times, and in different countries.

Those 129 individuals received LFTI services in the past. They include adults who were served as kids, and adopted children who were in our homes years ago.

Their loss hits hard, and it’s really tough on the staff who used to work with them.

We also mourn the 11 counselors who passed away. They were amazing people who helped address children’s trauma and brought hope into their darkest moments. When I think about the hundreds of kids they impacted, I truly believe these counselors’ example of unconditional love will endure for generations.

We rejoice that they are now in the presence of Jesus, and I’m confident they have each heard, “Job well done!” from our Lord.

However, these losses are devastating for families, friends, and co-workers. The need for prayer is great.

Will you join me in lifting up the following?
  • The families who are grieving deeply (pray that the God of all comfort will be their companion in grief and guide them toward healing, and pray for the LFTI team that is focusing specifically on their needs),
  • The staff who are currently serving rescued kids (pray for health, rest and peace),
  • Each child who lost a counselor (pray for comfort as they process this difficult and confusing loss),
  • Each child currently in LFTI homes (pray they stay healthy and that Jesus shows them love in the ways they need).

Looking Ahead – In Their Honor

As we remember those lost, LFTI’s work for rescued boys and girls will keep going strong in their honor. We have a team of counseling interns who are filling gaps during this time, and we’re continuing proactive health protocols.

That includes daily home sanitization, virtual counseling, and weekly COVID tests. We’ve had ZERO infections in LFTI homes since the pandemic began – please pray it stays that way.

Thank you for being part of this mission and lifting up LFTI’s ministry in this challenging time.

In Christ,

Chris, LFTI Founder
