Child trafficking is surging in South Asia, and LFTI is positioned to meet it head-on. We have increased the number of home staff, counselors, and transition homes in the areas we serve. All operations are in compliance with new COVID-19 regulations, and our waitlist of vetted adoptive parents is full.

LFTI is ready for the influx because caring people like you have donated generously to help children with stories like Ryan:

Ryan came to LFTI after being bought and sold by six different traffickers. With no caring adults in his life, Ryan learned to steal to provide for himself.

After he was rescued, one of the home staffers, Prakash, noticed Ryan often stealing food from the kitchen. Instead of punishing him, Prakash invited Ryan to help cook and eat the food as they prepared it together. This happened a lot, building one of the most important emotional needs for a traumatized child – trust. Before Ryan went home with his new mom and dad, he told Prakash, “I thought you would be like the mean people I knew. But instead, you cared and gave me food I didn’t have to work for.”
