Message from Chris, LFTI’s President and Founder

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, I wanted to send you this important update regarding Life for the Innocent’s mission, events and work.
First, please know the prayers of our board and staff are with you during this unexpected season. If you have prayer requests or personal updates, please write us at info@lifefortheinnocent.org. Our U.S. staff will lift you up in prayer each Monday morning.
Reaching trafficked children in South Asia is more critical now than ever. Here’s the latest on COVID-19’s impact on LFTI and how we are responding:
  • Trafficking increases when disasters hit communities. We are already hearing
reports of traffickers taking advantage of this pandemic.
  • In the coming months, we will serve an additional 1,600+ children. After being rescued, many will be required to get tested for COVID-19.
  • Currently, there are no diagnoses of COVID-19 among LFTI children or staff.
  • Additional temporary housing. In accordance with new social distancing procedures, we are temporarily expanding the number of transition homes to reduce the number of children in each facility. We are using church buildings in South Asia that are currently closed due to the ban on large gatherings.
  • Annual Lantern Gala. Thestaff is working on meaningful alternatives to the major fundraiser and celebration scheduled for May 9. We are putting together exciting ideas to unite the LFTI family virtually and will be in touch as plans progress.
I truly believe LFTI exists because of Jesus Christ and His heart to serve children at risk. If you are a praying person, please pray for God’s unending LOVE to reign in our hearts and that more people will experience compassion, peace and freedom through Jesus than ever before.
Thank you for your love and support.
In Christ,
Chris
